Navis Gear: Our Story

Navis Gear began with two brothers and a love for the water.

We grew up boating the lakes and coastal waters of New England cherishing early sunrises while chasing fish, afternoons wakeboarding with friends, and sunset cruises we wished would never end.

One of us turned that love into a career: twenty years serving in the United States Coast Guard. The other moved west, trading coastal waters for Utah mountains. But the pull of the water never leaves you.

Now when we get together, the best moments look a lot like they did when we were kids. Only now, we've got our own kids in tow. Those days on the water are rarer, but more meaningful than ever.

Navis grew from a simple realization during one of those trips. The gear we trusted for skiing, hiking, and even golfing, was built to perform from head to toe.  But that was not the case for boating.  There was no hat made for the windy, sunny, and wet conditions we often encounter.

So we asked a simple question: how do you make a hat that's truly performance gear?

Navis was built around that answer. Patent-pending gear designed for the reality of boating, where wind, speed, and inclement weather are part of the experience.
